NOAA-N Prime Launch and Information

The Flight Readiness Review was completed on January 29, 2009, at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) and the Mission Dress Rehearsal was completed on January 30, 2009. Activities are progressing on schedule. The Launch Readiness Review is on February 2, 2009, and we remain on schedule for the February 4, 2009, launch at 5:22:01 am EST.

On Monday February 2, 2009, at 11:00 am EST the VAFB weather officer will provide a winds briefing and at 11:00 am EST there will be a live press conference on NASA TV. On Tuesday February 3, 2009, the gantry is scheduled to be moved from around the Delta II rocket at 8:30 pm EST. A preliminary report is that there is a 20% chance of violating weather constraints on February 4th with that increasing to 80% on February 5th. NASA TV launch coverage is expected to start on February, 4, 2009, at 3:00 am EST.
