Each of the following tours last approximately 40 minutes. The schedule has been arranged for the tours to begin at 45 minute intervals. You can participate in all 3 tours if you so desire.

David Skaggs Research Center building

David Skaggs Building Tour

There are 10 separate NOAA organizations that occupy space in the David Skaggs Research Center building. This tour provides a general overview and highlights several of the organizations including the Denver Forecast Office of the National Weather Service, Space Environment Center, Forecast Systems Laboratory, and Climatic Monitoring & Diagnostics Laboratory. rotating sphere Science On a Sphere

Come pretend that you are an astronaut and view the earth as you would from the Space Shuttle. The Science On a Sphere projects different data parameters from 4 projectors onto a 6 foot sphere. Observe weather patterns, watch hurricanes, and see land topography and ocean bathymetry in 3-D, all shown in the way they occur: on a sphere! This is one you won't want to miss. Picture of the Sun and EarthNESDIS - Boulder Tour

Get an in-depth tour of the National Geophysical Data Center, NOAA's most diverse data center along with the National Climatic Data Center's Paleoclimatology Branch. Learn about paleoclimate, nighttime lights of the Earth, mapping the Great Lakes, modeling the U.S. coastal zones, earthquake, volcano, and tsunami hazards. Get a foldable globe or an origami world.
