WIND PROFILERS
ITU-R TG 8/2 has completed studies for the creation of worldwide wind
profiler allocations. This matter is on the agenda for WRC-97.
PASSIVE SENSING
Additional allocations and improved protection from fixed microwave
and the inter-satellite service, on WRC-97 agenda.
POLITICAL ISSUES
Congress continues to discuss proposals to auction government spectrum
as a revenue tactic. The cost of relocating government systems to
new bands is rarely considered and less frequently discussed.
