GOES 10 Status
  • Operational (GOES-West at 135E W )
  • S/C operating nominally in ‘inverted’ mode
    • Launched April 25, 1997
    • May 1997 - Solar array slowed, stopped & spacecraft placed in standby
    • July 1997 - S/C was rotated (Yaw Flip), Solar Array successfully commanded into reverse mode
    • May 1998 return S/C to storage mode until operational call-up.
    • July 9, 1998: Successfully return from storage mode for anticipated operational replacement of GOES-9
    • July 28: Data Collection Platform Interrogation (DCPI) transponder side-A failed, Operating on redundant side-B
  • July 27, 1998: Operational (replaced GOES-9)
